We also ordered the cherry pepper calamari, which was spicy but nice. Surprised it didn't come with a sauce. For entrees my wife ordered some salad and I had the famous porkchop which did not disappoint. What I really enjoyed was the presentation and explanation of the anatomy of the pork chop and describing the parts that should be eaten first and what to expect. Can't wait till they open up in Vernon hills.
One thing stands out during our experience having dinner here: the waitress Marilin. She is outstanding with the best of everything you would ever want in a server. You'd be lucky if your table is in her section.
Great restaurant for a special occasion. The decor/ambiance is very nice and the food is great. With wonderful service and great special touches, rose petals for anniversaries and a card and dessert for bdays. Pricey but well worth it. Loved the food! The filet was delicious and the pork chop is truly special (and massive). My favorite thing was the fried asparagus, perfectly breaded and tender with a super flavorful crab topping. The brûlée corn was amazing as well. Recommend the chili on a chilly night. And we were pleasantly surprised by the steak and tater tots. Desserts were delicious and a great wine list as well as some really thoughtful NA options. Would go back for another special occasion or try them for their special prices for a less epic time. Nice work Chef Leo!
We recently took a group of 11 to Perry 's to celebrate a family member 's significant birthday. Based on the experience I would say Perry 's may be good for a small group of 2 or 4 people, but a table of 11 seemed to be too large for staff to handle on a Saturday night. The dining room was modern and comfortable but loud. It was difficult to have a conversation with people sitting directly across from me let alone further down the table. The food depended on the item. We started with guests ordering drinks. My husband asked if they served hard cider. At first he was told no, but then the waiter thought they had Angry Orchard but then it turned out they didn 't. Next my brother (who made the reservation and had put a deposit down to hold the reservation ordered appetizers for the table. We had the oysters, calamari, and shrimp cocktail. All of it was good. We then had everyone order their own main course and side dish (which feed two . When the food arrived the sides were placed down the center of the table so the brussel sprouts I ordered ended up at the opposite end of the table. It worked out fine but I expected the waitstaff to put each side dish in front of the person who ordered the specific side dish. I had the filet mignon. I found it to be salty for my taste. My husband ordered the Perry 's famous pork chop which I tasted. We both thought it was really good. At the end of the evening the waiter brought out a full size dessert with a candle for the guest of honor. The dessert was their bread pudding which was also really good. It had a huge toasted fresh marshmallow on top which everyone was impressed by. I had to find the waiter to take coffee orders for our guests at the opposite end of the table from the birthday celebrant. While the evening went fairly smoothly the one are you kidding me moment was when another staff member (he was in a suit, so not our waiter brought the bill to the table and started to explain it to one of our guests instead of my brother (the guy who made the reservation, put the deposit down and ordered appetizers for the table. When I realized what was happening I had the staff member give me the bill as one of the co-hosts of the dinner. In fairness to the staff member this guest and my brother were both wearing dark color sweaters so maybe the waiter told him the host was the guy in the sweater but still make sure you know who the right person is before you start to explain the $1000+ bill to the wrong person. The guest looked panicked when I first noticed what was happening. Overall, Perry 's is not my first choice for a steakhouse meal regardless of party size.
We went for the first time tonight for my husband's birthday. Everything was delicious. I had the filet lobster and my husband had the symphony (steak, lobster shrimp) and we shared the Brussels sprouts. I ordered my steak rare and it was perfect. Service was great too.
