Poblano Peppers Taqueria - Schaumburg

The food was well-seasoned and reasonably priced, but the steak was not skirt steak; it was a cheaper cut that was one of the toughest steak tortas I've encountered. I really had to struggle to chew and swallow it. To be honest, the only reason I finished it was that I was really hungry. However, I must say that the flavor was spot on, even if the steak was extremely tough.

The ground beef tacos had no taco seasoning at all. They tasted terrible, and I ended up throwing them away.

I wouldn't go out of my way to return. The steak tacos were decent, but not exceptional. The staff was friendly for take-out, though.

I decided to try the top Mexican restaurant in my area. While it doesn't have much of a dine-in atmosphere, it does offer bar stools and an island for seating. The food was prepared fairly quickly since I was the only one there at the time. The presentation was appealing, and the staff even brought my meal to my seat. I ordered their steak torta lunch special from the menu, and the price was fantastic for the quantity of food I received. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. I absolutely disliked the meat! All I could taste was McCormick taco seasoning. I ordered steak for its natural flavor, not to have it overshadowed by pre-packaged seasoning.

The steak tacos were disappointing; the steak quality was low, tough, and had a lot of fat.
