This was my first visit here and I loved the tranquil setting and the shop has many treasures for the home and Garden at reasonable prices. I also thought the plant prices were well priced. However the garden center is smaller than the website inferred as is the cafe. (It may expand further into the season) The courtyard for eating outside is delightful though. The food we had was delicious (salad and a pulled pork sandwich ) however there was a very limited menu. 1 soup, 1 salad, 1 sandwich, 1 dessert.I enquired if this was the case every day or if it was reduced options because it was early in the season or a weekday rather than the weekend. I was told it was the same menu choice each day but the type of soup, for example, would change (different flavour etc) I was told that for kids they could make something work if the choice didn't suit as they always have chicken breast etc in the fridge.I would phone ahead to find out the menu in case you didn't like today's option. For me this is very limiting and the website is misleading (online menu shows an omelette of the day and a chef's special of the day to give a main course choice) I would return to the shop if in the neighbourhood but probably would not come again for lunch. My rating/score reflects the disconnect between what it says they do and what they actually offer. My visit didn't live up to the website marketing.
Called Pathways to Perennials - I'd call it pathways to haven. This is one of the places you go and walk away with a great feeling. The moment we arrived, we felt we were transported to a faraway place.Beautiful landscape and setting. The café itself is set in a cozy, environment with beautiful landscaped décor of flowers and shrubs. It has a little pond in the centre, the few tables there were all different. In one corner are some small round purple tables, then there's a bigger table by the pond, there are big straw umbrella like decors.here also have a store selling jams and other garden related knick knacks. The food, reasonably priced, especially the 3 course prix fixed menu for $22.50 only! What a deal it was. It came with choice of soup or salad. The soup of the day was Squash soup and was it good. It had speckles of what looked like red peppercorns which added a crunch to the soup. Entrée was choice of Pickerel with BC Oyster sauce or omelette. The pickerel was a good sized portion that came with veggies. One can taste the freshness, I'd have liked a little more spice to it. The omelet looked good too and came with a piece of toast with jams and chutneys, I think. Dessert was between hazelnut chocolate cake or poached pear both served with ice cream, great for a hot day. Don't usually like poached peaches or poached fruits, but I tried some and I wouldn't mind trying that again. The chocolate hazelnut cake was light enough and not very sweet. Good cake.By the way, this place serves lunch only till 3pm and closes in the Fall. After lunch we took a walk in the huge garden, where wedding parties are held. This place had everything, good food, great price and lovely surroundings. Definitely worth the drive there.
I just learned about this beautiful oasis in King. We had lunch in a beautiful garden and the food was well priced and undoubtedly the best restaurant experience I've had in years. The food was outstanding! I highly recommend this lovely cafe.
A delightful setting in a garden centre featuring thousands of perennial plants and shrubs with outdoor and indoor seating. Excellent menus with daily specials and unique beverages. The onsite store is also very well stocked with useful and some unusual treasures for home and garden. Most enjoyable in good weather to enjoy the ambiance of the outdoor seating.
