We went to the Gordon Arms for afternoon tea to celebrate the birth of our friends baby. It was absolutely delicious. Nice selection of sandwiches, scones, quiche and cakes. I also took my two little daughters and they got their own miniature version and they... very grown up and loved it! Tara was so considerate and stopped our prosecutor! Was a lovely afternoon and a great place for a celebration!
We stopped for a drink today as we are a few doors away. The place is immaculate, you can see that it has recently been renovated very successfully. The best part was the friendly welcome from Tara. Would we... be back next time in the area. I would take a detour to visit, it's such a lovely pub with lovely owners.
Me and my Husband called in this Quaint Pub whist on a holiday break in Greenlaw. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who showed us to a lovely seating area with a huge fireplace. The outdoir garden seating area is beautiful. We ordered drinks,...coffee and cider with 2 gorgeous slices of homemade cake. We were made so welcome. The owner of the pub and cafe a lovely lady called Tara gave us a bit of history on the pub and cafe, showing us all the work they have carried out. It is beautiful andca must to visit if you passing through Gordon and surrounding villages. She even offered to take us home if we got the bus from where we are staying. You cant get that kind of hospitality anywhere. We will be back needless to say. XxxxX
Under new management a family run pub. We had a very warm and friendly experience. The new owners did above and beyond to help us. Let me set up our day of events. A family of 5. Two adults, one teen, one child and a...dog. On holiday and out for a Scotland hike. We got drenched in the typical summer weather. Found this lovely looking village pub for a bite to eat and dry off. We were warmly invited in and instantly felt part of the community. After asking about something to eat. We suddenly realised, we had come on the day that the kitchen was closed. Although only drinks were being served, they saw that we were in a pickle, wet hungry, and still more walking to be completed. They kindly switched on the fryer and produced chips a selection of sandwiches, Which they didn’t have to do. It was our error of not checking before we started out. We were very very surprised of the care, presentation, quality of the dishes magically created. With Full bellies and many thanks. The Gordon Arms will be visited many times, we are here on holiday. Kev, Alli, Sophie and Tess, not forgetting our dog called Flash.
