With a name like La Chimichanga and a drive-through window, I figured this place would be mediocre at best. I was wrong. This place has delicious food and a full bar. We tried the Pina Loca, which is cooked in a pineapple, and it was glorious. The fish taco was good. The rice and beans were superior. They special made some shrimp in butter for my daughter (who is picky). The only let down was the shrimp nachos, which weren't bad, but were plain compared to the rest of the food. The staff was also friendly and they had a decent assortment of beer (not all IPAs). We will return... once my wallet refills (because it wasn't cheap).
Wow best fish tacos ever, the seasoning in the beans served with chips was scrumptious and the burritos are huge The place was clean, friendly staff and the Margaritas options are enormous when in Scott's Valley California you must eat here
Literally sat in the drive-through for half a hour just waiting to pay when I was at the window the whole time this place is very slow
This is my go-to spot for tacos and a draft beer in Scotts Valley! I still call them habaneros as that 's how I remember them but la chimichanga cantina stepped it up a notch. Recently they started offering free black bean dip made with chipotles with your meal, it 's awesome! Those who know me know that I have always hated beans but these are so tasty they made me a believer! Quesabirria! Yes they have them here and they are awesome! They dip the corn tortillas in the birria juice (actually grease) and then load it up with birria, cheese, onions and cilantro and grill them till they are crispy and gooey and fricken rad! Served with a cup of the birria consumé to dip in it 's a real treat. Baja fish tacos are also great with fried fish topped with a pile of guac and chipotle sauce. Another favorite of mine is the breakfast burrito with chorizo, very tasty! If you have never had a Huarache, you definitely should try it. It 's like a Mexican pizza but it 's on a large hand made masa base. Carb overload and way too much food for one person but once in a while it 's worth the splurge! I will say that the burritos are a couple bucks more than the other taquerias in town and they are all rice so not the best value. I stay away from the burritos and it keeps me happy. Full bar with a nice draft beer selection keeps me coming back for more. Give 'em a try!
