Sonic Drive-in - Scottsbluff

Sonic holds a lot of nostalgia for me. When I was young, I used to enjoy hamburgers and fries there after school, washed down with Diet Coke. My mom would treat me if I got an A on my tests, but if I didn't, well, let's just say the consequences weren't pleasant. Anyway, I recently returned to the city after 20 years, and it feels great to revisit those memories.

I've been working here for just 2-3 months, and there’s always some kind of drama happening. On Sunday night, we were informed that everyone was looking for new jobs, and I still have the group chats to prove it. The next day, I returned my uniform, and I received a call asking why I handed it in. I remembered the general manager telling us that we were all supposed to seek new jobs because she had resigned. Then she mentioned that she was still around and assured me that I had a job. I replied that I wasn’t going to return to a place where I have to worry about it shutting down in a week or two.

The wait time for food orders is quite lengthy, both for the drive-thru and when I tried to place my order in person. I've gone to the back of the line twice. However, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the food quality is excellent! I'm just puzzled as to why the drive-thru system doesn't seem to function well.

Terrible service. Sit down and wait until they wait for 10 minutes. Having tried all year round on numerous occasions and always the same result, so end up elsewhere. It wasn't even busy. 3 cars are in stalls, 2 cars are in the car thru. Obviously, new managers and employees are just as bad as previous employees.

Was excited when we got a Sonic in our city due to eating at one as a kid on a trip and it being amazing. Maybe when this place first opened it was okay. But has since gone downhill and has stayed there for years. Only ate here a handful of times due to terrible experiences that I don't intend on repeating. Uncaring staff, lackluster execution on the food. Drinks seem to be okay usually but you'll probably wait awhile. And I don't think this place is maintained well. Don't eat here unless you want to waste your money on a long shot that things improve or your visit is different. Might try again sometime and write an updated review.
