When finally the house opened last Wednesday, I was a little worried about the food there only two days later (Friday night). I thought I'd give them a little width to get the kink out. You don't need that! Beautiful small plates of special smoked and hardened meat, only four main dishes (of which we have ordered two – the pork sausage, which was more like a nut than a sausage, and the roasted heald, which was beautiful, moist and fragrant with white oak smoke). And two small but delicious desserts. We live in the neighborhood, but it is worth making the trip to the old town. The only real error is a lack of lighting in the front courtyard and the smokiness inside (a result of wood burning used to smoke and heal the meat). I'm sure both folds are ironed out. But how for food and wine selection? Five stars. What a surprise in the game!
The service and the entire ambience at Haus Brassiere was wonderful. That said, dinner selections especially salmon were best on average. Expects more given menu price points.
