The Wok Express - Scottsdale

The food here is truly authentic and delicious! The waitstaff are incredibly friendly, and the portion sizes are very generous. I was pleasantly surprised by the Egg Foo Young, which was well-seasoned and flavorful. Additionally, I'm thrilled that they serve a light and delightful Singapore Mi Fun that surpasses most others I've tried. The sweet and sour shrimp was a real treat, and I loved the lettuce wraps. I can't wait to return, especially to unwind with a vibrant pot of Jasmine tea. I commend this restaurant for its tasty dishes and attentive service. Plus, they still have great meals for under $10!

Some menu items are fantastic, while others leave a lot to be desired. To give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt, I dined here twice. First, let’s discuss the egg rolls. The crab puffs, on the other hand, fall flat as an appetizer due to their cream-like texture, minimal crab content, and excessive sweetness—though they do make for a decent dessert. As for the chicken in the breaded dish, it tasted pre-cooked to me, and the pieces were far too small, making for a frustratingly chewy experience with overcooked bits that ended up in the trash. However, the Happy Family dish is absolutely delightful, and the white rice pairs nicely with it. Unfortunately, the fried rice lacks flavor. On the bright side, the battered and fried shrimp are worth the trip alone.

Their house wonton soup is packed with freshly prepared ingredients. The menu features all the classic dishes, presented with an American twist. The portions are generous, and you can customize the spice level for those who like it hot. Prices are reasonable and comparable to similar restaurants.
