We made reservations for lunch, not tea, and I believe her name is Romona, said we'd have to pay for the 4th person for tea even if they weren't here. We told her we there for lunch not tea. Just right off the bat, bad taste in my mouth. We then get seated in the back of the store and given a very confusing lunch menu. The way things were worded made it confusing what I was ordering LOL I then ask the server or owner if they had a menu for what tea they offered and their wine list and her response was no we have everything. Uh, okay ... you're a tea house you should probably have a tea menu. I felt like I had to pry for information. I ordered a tea and the honey container had lavender seeds in it which wasn't a problem but it had knats in it. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. The quiche tasted a day old and bland. Needed more flavor. Way overpriced for what it was. They also include 20% gratuity which I don't mind if the service is good which it wasn't. We then sat there for 15 min waiting for them to come back so we could order scones but no one ever checked on us so we decided we wanted to leave. The place wasn't busy at all. We felt like an inconvenience. I'd never go back here which is a shame bc it has a lot of potential.
Great art displays .. all originals from multiple local artist. The staff are super pleasant and the store open and bright.
We had a lovely luncheon to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was a wonderful time. From entrance to the pretty gallery of art, crafts, jewelry, etc there was a Happy Birthday banner. A short walk to a beautifully set table, and comfy chairs we all felt like queens as we enjoyed Queen's tea. With our group of 7 they accommodated us with tiers of delicious sandwiches, scones and desserts on 3 separate serving towers. The sandwiches 4 types for each of us, were lovely and delicious, the scones were amazing with cream cheese and jam. On top were 2 small desserts. It is a very luscious lunch and if you can eat it all you are doing really good but tastes so good it is hard to stop. Take home containers were provided just in case. And of course the tea lots of varieties in pretty, elegant tea pots. And after the lunch you can walk around the beautiful gallery of art, ornaments, jewelry, teas, chocolates, purses and a number of other beautifully set tables waiting for your visit for tea. great time, served beautifully and even split the bill for 6 of us to pay separately and treat the Birthday girl who was given a crown and sash to wear. . We can't wait to go back. Spread the word!!!
If you like unique and locally made, this is a must see place to visit. A true artist village. Everything from jewelry to indoor/outdoor furniture and art (and everything in between)can be found here. Beautifully crafted and unique pieces made from your soon to be favorite local artists. Not to mention the tearoom and wine bar. A gem located in downtown Hobe Sound.
Original Elements is an artists' cooperative that is also home to the Tequesta Teahouse. The art displays include jewelry, glasswork, textiles, photos, paintings, and much more. It's also a beautiful place to have a variety of teas and freshly made soups, tea sandwiches, scones, salads, etc. Don't miss this fascinating find!
