Last time I went to szechuan tokio, I saw that there were only 4 meat-free options. eating is okay, but it is lacking in realistic texture and the taste is strong on the sauces I find to be a little sweet. it's been a past since I left so you should arrange yourself and try. they notice the effort and although eating was in order, I only give 2.
When I picked up my food, they reiterated that I could always specify if I didn't want oyster sauce. I explained again that oyster sauce is not vegetarian and should not be used in vegetarian dishes. They insisted that there was only a small amount of oyster sauce in some of the "vegetarian" dishes. I doubted that they would change their menu or recipes, as they always downplayed the presence of oyster sauce and insisted it was vegetarian. They also offered me free crispy chow mein noodles, which I asked if they contained eggs. They confirmed there were eggs and flour in them, to which I explained that vegans do not consume eggs as they are an animal product. They then asked if vegan flour was acceptable, to which I replied that flour is fine. They mentioned they had gluten-free options, which was nice. The General Tso "chicken" and "chicken" broccoli dishes we ordered were delicious, using two types of faux meat that were both tasty. We also tried the avocado sushi, which was okay, though I prefer sushi rice with more seasoning. Overall, I would order from here again. Despite their confusion about vegetarian ingredients, they were willing to adapt recipes to please the customer. If this restaurant were in a big city, I would give it 2 stars, but considering the limited vegan options in the suburbs, I give them 3 stars.
The restaurant offers vegetarian options with vegetable meat, as well as tasty veggie sushi.
During my recent visit to Szechuan Tokyo, I noticed that there were only four vegetarian options available. The food was decent, but I found that it lacked realistic texture and had a strong emphasis on overly sweet sauces. It has been some time since my visit, so I recommend going and trying it for yourself. Despite the minor issues I encountered, the food was acceptable, but I would only rate it 2 out of 5.
