They use French bread for their toast and it was so crispy and fluffy. I love the idea of using French bread! They also had a great tea collection as well as unique and seasonal coffee beverages. I noticed Yelp had a lot of photos with crepes as well but there was no crepe menu when I came so I was a little sad to not see it. Ambiance: this place is perfect for solo or collaborative working. I saw alot of artists and writers here and I also personally came to get some work done. This cafe has SO much seating upstairs and downstairs and there are also ample outlets around to keep your devices charged. HIGHLY recommend for a chill morning. Service: everyone was great, they churned our drinks pretty quickly and insisted that they bring my food to me which was very kind (probably safer for them to walk the food up stairs lol) Overall, I'll definitely be returning alone and maybe even with some friends to have a productive day and knock out some work or to draw.
Prob one of my favorite cafes now. Walked into this spot after a late lunch today to read a book with a pastry and a matcha oat milk latte. No disappointments here: great pastry, great food, awesome people, vibrant light coming in, nice cozy nooks upstairs, perfect temperature, chill clientele, wholesome chalk wall and art in the bathroom and some unique non-lofi cafe music. If I had a cafe, I'd like it to look and feel like this one hands down.
After trying to find a comfortable place in Chinatown to stop for a bite while waiting for a ride, we thankfully found the Eastern Cafe. Nice open space with a great upstairs. Our toddler loved the chalk in the bathroom. The staff was super nice to us. We ordered an espresso tonic, a chai tea latte, and their veggie sandwich. It was nice to see that they took their time and put care into each item. While it took longer than one might be used to at other cafes, it was well worth it. The chai tea latte was one of the best we've tried. The espresso tonic was something I'd read about and had to try. It was an experience, looks great and the dried citrus touch was really nice. I'm not sure if I'm sold on the drink, but it was pretty good. Our veggie sandwich was fantastic, just what we needed for an afternoon snack to split. The balance of flavors and textures was great, it was very enjoyable. I'd definitely come back.
Nice chill vibe. We spent a couple of hours here upstairs catching up with a friend. Love the honey and condensed milk toast with a caffeinated drink hits just all the right spots. If you want an unpretentious location to just relax and enjoy a coffee/tea this is the place for you.
Around the area and I was looking for coffee. Tried the eastern iced latte here, tasted pretty good.
