You can’t come here and not try their clam chowder. It’s so good. On a side note I don’t recommend ordering the crab cakes on their lunch menu as they’re pretty overpriced for how much you get. If you get the spinach and crab dip, as delicious as it is be prepared to ration the bread they give you accordingly because they charge extra for a BREAD refill. Kinda crazy. Aside from those 2 things I haven’t had a bad experience here. Eat outside on their deck if you can!
We took a vacation to sight see the west coast. We started in Seatle and the first night we decided to eat at Ivar 's on Pier 54. We had a table that overlooked the sound, and our server, Jenn, was fantastic. I of course went full tourist from the Midwest and asked a thousand questions. Which she patiently, and happily answered. Even making recommendations. We started with a Seared Ahi Tuna Appetizer. Which was amazing. I do not possess the ability to describe how much we enjoyed it. For the main course I had the full Cioppino with Half a Dungeness crab. We are on Vacation, I have never had Cioppino before, and I love crab. Having no point of reference, I cannot say how it compares to other restaurant 's Cioppino, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was amazing. According to my lady, I kept making yum noises. She ordered the Citrus Miso Halibut, if I was making yum noises then she had a mouthgasm. She could not stop talking about how much she liked it, and how good it was. For drinks I ordered the Non-alcoholic Spicy Dragonfruit Sour, and she had the St. Kitts Mango Rum Punch. We were both pleased with our selection, they were so good... so good! We really enjoyed our time at Ivar 's The view, the staff, the food. We had no complaints. In fact, as I 'm writing this I want to go back and try more of their food... or get that Cioppino again as I loved it.
We had the Clam Chowder and the Northwest Platter. Pretty good, I say I'll definitely get their clam chowder again.
In town for one night and the hotel bartender said this is the place. Did not disappoint.
