I called in my order 40 minutes ago for pickup, and I showed up to get it. No, the order just went in to the kitchen. . So I 'm late, they screwed up the order, and now I am sitting here waiting for food that should have been cooked and ready to go before I arrived. I 'm very disappointed; they seem very disorganized.
I was very concerned about the new ownership possibly affecting the quality of Judy Fu's, my favorite Chinese restaurant. Living in Olympia, I always preferred dining in, but due to Covid restrictions, that had to be put on hold. Luckily, in mid-May of this year (2024), indoor dining became available again. On May 14th, a friend and I had dinner at Judy Fu's. The great news was that our server had been there since 2007 and assured us that most of the menu items were still available, with some new additions. I started with the hot and sour soup, a tradition for me at Judy Fu's, and it was as delicious as ever. For my main course, I had the Szechwan Garlic Chicken, which was incredibly flavorful with bell peppers, onions, and garlic. I chose a spice level 2, which was just right for me. I had the pleasure of meeting Bill Lee, the new owner, who was dedicated to maintaining the restaurant's tradition while adding his own personal touch. Despite the long drive from Olympia, Judy Fu's Snappy Dragon remains a top choice for me due to its fair prices, exceptional food, and excellent service. Judy Fu's Snappy Dragon still earns my highest recommendation for its food, service, and ambiance. It remains my number one choice!
My absolute favorite spot for Chinese cuisine in Seattle without a doubt! The staff is welcoming, and the BBQ pork fried rice, green onion pancakes, and wontons are consistently delightful. Not to mention, the prices are fair, and the servings are quite generous.
My girlfriend and I were on vacation in Seattle, and we stumbled into our lodging late at night, no idea what food was available. The nearest spot I could find was Snappy Dragon, so I called up and asked if they were still doing deliveries, because they closed in like half an hour. The guy said he thought they were probably done for the night, and I asked if he could just double-check, because I was super hungry. He did a quick check and then took my order. So, kudos to them for going ahead and hooking me up, even though they were debating packing it in for the night. As it turns out, the food here was so good that my girlfriend kept suggesting that we order from them, even though we had plenty of city left to explore! On the first night, we picked up the Szechuan noodle soup. Even with the noodles basically compressed into a cube form, they were still springy and delightful once we got them into the soup. We ate as many of the noodles as we could, and then tried the Ants Climb a Tree, which wasn't nearly as good. Just not enough minced pork and substance to the dish. We ended up saving them as leftovers, and then finding some meat to augment the noodles with later. The next time we ordered, we tried the Snappy Dragon Fried Rice and the wonton soup. Both were great. Wontons were tasty, the soup was flavorful, and the fried rice was pretty solid. Good, but not amazing Chinese food, solid value, hopefully they can open up for in-person dining again soon.
