Ming China Bistro - Seattle

We had made a reservation and arrived a few minutes early to find several groups waiting in the restaurant entrance to be seated. It took about 5-10 minutes for a server to acknowledge us and ask about our reservation. We were surprised to find out that they were unaware of our reservation and were told to wait in line with the other groups. We were finally seated after a 25 minute wait (45 minutes after our reservation time). The food was good and the service during the meal was decent but slow. I received an email 2-3 hours later informing me that my reservation had been cancelled. Just to clarify, the cancellation happened hours after our meal. It seems like this restaurant does not actually utilize Open Table for reservations as they do not honor them. I would suggest dining here during off-peak hours as the restaurant cleared out after the 7:30pm rush. Just make sure not to book through Open Table!

Food was good but not exceptional. Most of the menu had no descriptions for the food items. We were always waiting for our server, and our server decided we didn't need the extra vegetables we asked for. And they wouldn't honor my Entertainment book coupon-and were not at all apologetic about it.

I have no idea why this restaurant is on Open Table as they clearly do not want to use it, and don't honor the reservations made through it That said, I would recommend eating there and arriving off peak hours as the restaurant emptied after the rush at Just don't book through Open Table!

Some friends and I tried this restaurant with very little to go on--I've felt that it deserved a try since it opened in the East Green Lake area. Surrounded by a combination of coffee shops and bar-restaurants, this offers a different choice. It has a good range in the menu, though not all menu choices were available when we ordered. I would attribute that to the fact that the customer base is not yet strong enough to merit stocking a full kitchen. The choices we made two hotpots and the broccoli-beef) were all excellent, with exceedingly generous portions. The prices were also very reasonable. This is a Chinese restaurant that comes out on the modern side, and is well worth the try!

My boyfriend, his six-year old daughter and I went out to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, though it looked good from the websites I visited. I placed a reservation, although it didn't seem as though it was needed as it wasn't as busy as I had expected (especially on Valentine's Day). We were seated near the back, and the seating display was nice and neat. We were immediately offered water and tea. We ended up ordering three entrees to split between the three of us, and honestly they were all delicious. We had a man and a woman both coming over to check on us, which was nice that if we needed anything at all, we would have someone there to ask. When the check came, I expected the total to be higher, but it was not bad at all. I would definitely go back here again!
