Simply Soulful has tasty food and friendly staff. They have some of the best barbecue I’ve eaten in Seattle and good barbecue is really difficult to find around here. They also have sweet tea, which is a plus. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu. The pecan pie was also great. My partner loved the fried catfish sandwich. I tried a bite and liked it as well.
The food taste good. However, the service not so much. My order has been forgotten. During my wait I kept being reassured that it’s coming.A hole hour after my estimated pick up time (during which I asked 3 times about my order)I was told they forgot it and they will start with it now.I understand how this can happen but what I don’t understand is how you deal with it.Instead of getting offered a discount, a free side or water while waiting I got lied to in my face.I was told: sorry, it’s his first day.Unfortunately, I’ve been a regular customer and therefore know it’s not his first day :DIf you want to lie to customers to excuse your behavior at least don’t do it so obviously. Also if you mess up people’s order offer them at least a free drink while they are waitingespecially if it’s 30 mins
Chicken and fish was seasoned well, but I think they put all of the seasonings on the chicken and didn't have any left for the pork chops or the greens. The macaroni and cheese was weirdly sweet. My corn muffin was really hard, I asked for another one and the new one was harder than the first one.The yams were just sweet...not really good just swet.sweet.Not impressed, but the music was nice
Everything was great! We’re from the south and missed us some good food! My husband got the catfish with a side of greens and yams. Everything was great and great service.
