Sadly the place is slipping, the people running the place really make you feel unwelcome. The service is slow and the place really needs a clean
Last year we came across Sexey’s late lunchtime but were served a brilliant meal so this year we booked. You are made welcome the minute you walk in the door. I had a carbonara, my wife chilli con carne. Okay took a little while to cook but it’s a pub so drinks on hand. The results were served hot wonderful flavours and very good portions and not a mass of rice or pasta with meagre sauces. In addition lovely garlic bread and chips crisp on outside and firm inside. Remember these are cooked when you order not kept under infrared lamps for hours. Pudding? Spotted Dick a mass of fruit in good sponge. Other was a Bailey’s sundae calorific choc sauce and flake, vanilla ice cream laced with a very generous portion of Bailey’s!! With a soft drink and cider all came to under £40. This after after a 170 mile drive is the best way to start our holiday.
Excellent home cooked food with generous portions at reasonable prices. Made to feel very welcome. Be prepared for a small wait as all food cooked to order but so worth it .
Stopped for a family Sunday roast dinner and greeted by friendly staff and good service. The roast was flavoursome with a great variety of vegetables and plenty of meat, which made it excellent value for money. The vegetables were all slightly overcooked, like mother used to do back in the day and the swede and sprouts tasted frozen rather than fresh. Felt quite nostalgic eating here.
