Wirtshaus Leo - Seebad Ahlbek

I went here with my family, tried to spend some nice time and I ordered hot chocolate. After a few moments everyone's got their order apart from me, I received a cold latte. I tried to reorder and then the waiter came and started being aggressive towards my father and was willing to start a fight. After a moments he was changed to a different waiter and I received a cold chocolate.

Service and prices great. Food is very Delicious. Try the original DDR soljanka soup. Its very goood.

I went with my wife and daughter on a Saturday night after we'd failed to get into several other restaurants (note: make a reservation in Herringsdorf for Saturday dinner). It was maybe 75% full and we sat at a bar table near the counter. We just wanted something small and quick, so we ordered a bowl of soup, a BBQ burger and a chicken burger. 50 minutes later, and only after a few pointed requests, we got our food - well, partially - my daughter's chicken burger turned out to be a children's cheeseburger wrapped up like a McDonalds order. My BBQ burger was made from a frozen, pre-fab patty and my wife's soup was seriously salty. We ate quickly and tried to pay with a card - apparently the card reader wouldn't work (because it was out of paper) so we had to use the last of our cash to pay. As a final insult, the waiter assumed that the overage was my tip and only after I glared at him did he ask me how much I was going to tip. Herringsdorf is bereft of casual, cheap eateries, so I assume this place tried to fill that niche. They could do a lot better. Go elsewhere.

Of course the outlook is nice and the dishes are "standard" with reasonable prices. Stuff was very friendly this time. My expectation was higher. Anyway, recommended for lunch. Dinner time is always crowded.

Really disappointed with the experience of eating at Wirtshaus Leo. After eating the mediocre tasteless drab food on offer, we found that the creditcard machine wasn't working (it seemed that the staff had been aware of this before we'd ordered anything). No apology for any inconvenience or anything... instead the staff became confrontational insisting that we left ID... went to the nearest cashpoint (and incurred a €5 withdrawal fee). The ID thing was particularly ironic since the "manager" who demanded this seemed amazingly reluctant to give us his name (after 30 or so seconds, he grunted out Müller somewhat unconvincingly). Pretty quickly his solution to this technical problem was threatening us with the police.I guess there must be better food in the area... both my dish and my partner's had no real taste. I'm fairly sure that there can't be worse service in any case. Don't give these people your custom or hard-earned money. They don't deserve it.
