Friend asked for food bar man said wasn't on at moment can't say I'm surprised I was worried just having a drink. Don't understand how this manages to stay open, the scruufiest pub I have ever been into in my life. Would need 20k spending on it just to have it condemned
It's an ok little pub but make sure you count your change as the guy at the bar short-changes you. He plays on drunk people and young girls
Really nice cozy pub , serving , an excellent pint of Guinness. Unfortunately the poor hygiene of the gents toilets , is , very off putting. It was like that before lockdown , and , is still the same .
The Cat&Fiddle Is A Decent Little Pub That Is Located Below The 1960s Saint Martins House Buildings.Originally Opened In 1970 And Called The Jutland'Then Rebranded In The 1980s As Fleets Which Closed In 1990 And Later Re-Opened As The Cat&Fiddle A Few Years Later. This Is An Open-Plan Pub With Elevated Seating Areas And Plenty Of Interesting Features Throughout The Pubs Interior. We Had Just Visited The Addisons Arms And Made Our Way To This Pub As We Haven't Been Here For Years. On Entry We Gave Our Track And Trace Details As Is The Norm At The Moment And Then Sat In One Of The Elevated Seating Areas At The Back Of The Pub.When Here We Ordered A Couple Of San Miguel Brewery Pale Lagers Which Were Well Served And Priced.I Liked My Visit To Here As It Is A Decent Pub In A Part Of The City I Don't Often Visit But It Is Well Worth Going To As The Beers Our Top Notch And Well Priced And There Are Easy Transport Links To This Part Of Town.Very Easy To Find From Bootle Oriel Road Train Station Turn Right Onto Oriel Road Then A Left Down Trinity Road Then Turn Left On Stanley Road A Few Minutes Walk.(This Is My First Review Of The Cat&Fiddle). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-11.30-23.00. Friday-Saturday-11.30-02.00. Sunday-09.00-23.00.
Pub hopping around the Stanley Road area my twin brother Stephen and I dropped into The Cat Fiddle Pub ,a pub I always enjoy visiting if I'm in this area of Liverpool. I love the look of this pub ,a very nice interior, good decor and furnishings including a superb looking serving bar, tasteful sums up my impression of this pub, there's tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, a really good pub to unwind in. We were here on a Mondays afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name, phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a beer each, we chose a San Miguel beer, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. My beer was really good, a delicate Spanish beer, light, hoppy and unpretentious, a thirst quenching beer that on a hot afternoon cut through the thirst, very easily to drink ,a beer style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of. We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another beer each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Cat Fiddle Pub is easy to locate along Stanley Road in the imposing St Martins House. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 11.30am till 11pm. Friday Saturday, 11.30am till 2am. Sunday, 11 30am till 11pm. A great pub,if your in the area most definitely well worth a visit.
