Today might have been a free day, but... I can't tell you how the salad was because, although I placed it carefully on the floor of my car, it spilled everywhere and it's now a fat mess that I get to clean. Why do they use Styrafoam?! My drink is definitely not an icy latte as I ordered and despite the fact that I was the only one in me, I could say that it was a little disorganized and they could still serve four drive-thru customers before me. Based on previous experiences eating is okay here and I like that they have seating.
I come here all the time to bring my kids for cake pops, and coffee for myself.. and always have a great experience! Today I drive from yakima to selah on my lunch, and ordered a blended mocha made WITH big train powder. I notice they weren 't making it with coffee so I clarify that that 's what I want, the girl looked annoyed and said that 's not what you said closes the window for a minute comes back charges me, I leave to head back to work take a drink, only to realize they did not put coffee in it, and made what they thought they heard instead of making it how I wanted.. a waste of 5 something plus the tip.
Good coffee. I always get the same drink at other stands as well.... but I find that river canyon really knows how to makes em. They ain't messing around. Another perk.... the punch cards. I enjoy getting a free drink every month or so. Most other coffee shops stopped doing punch cards. Lame. I recommend river canyon!
I was driving down the road trying to decide what to have for lunch. I saw a sign advertising a $6 lunch special, so I figured I would give it a try. When I walked in the door it took a while for them to acknowledge me, but they were busy with the drive thru so I wasn't to worried about it. I found out that the $6 special was half of a salad. That didn't sound like enough to satisfy my hunger, so I ordered from the sandwich menu. I got the turkey cranberry croissant, and it was decent enough to get a star in the review. I was offered my choice of sides, either chips, salad or soup, and I looked at the menu and the soup of the day was cheddar broccoli, so I chose that. The menu price of that was $7.95. I then ordered a 24 oz ice tea to go with it, and it's menu price was $2.00. Somehow my total came out to $12.73. Unless this isolated building in Selah has a 30% tax rate for some unknown reason, I have been overcharged. There was no itemized receipt to show what I was charged per item, so I don't know which menu price they were ignoring. When I got my food, the soup was chicken noodle soup, and a rather bland and disappointing chicken noodle at that. Someone spent some time and money at Hobby Lobby to decorate the place, and it's a quiet place to have lunch, but I will not be coming back.
