Their service was great, patient and attentive. The ambiance was very welcoming, but their food was delectable. Must try their Crab Roll! Yum!

Great food and great service. We sat at the bar and ordered a dozen oysters. Best oysters I've had in a long time. Staff was friendly and efficient.

This rating is more like a 4.25 but I'm making it a 5 star because a bunch of people are judging this place on criteria they don't offer. We arrived for dinner and a weekend night and it was steady. Nearly every table was full, and there were a couple spots at the bar. I'd read the reviews so I was prepared for the more hands off approach but I wasn't sure if we could just seat ourselves. This linger at the door was less than 15 seconds before one of the staff members came out from behind the bar/counter work space to give us the run down. You order at the counter or by using a QR code on your phone. The QR code is set up so that each phone that scans it creates it's own ticket which is awesome for split checks. Also, it leaves your tab open so you can easily order more food/drinks. Our drinks arrived right after ordering them. Chowder was thick and hearty, just like it should be. The Baked Oyster Flight with Compound Butter was delicious! If I find myself in Sequim again, I will be stopping in for another flight. Skillfully prepared and excellent seasoning. I ordered a Manila Steamer for my entree. I tend to only eat seafood when I'm near a coast and I was so worth it. Last time I had this style of dish I was in Montauk and SG's easily rivaled my last Manila Steamer. The bread served with your steamer was just the right amount of crusty for its purpose. I'd love to report what my dining companion ate that night but I was entirely distracted by my own food I couldn't even tell you. An open face sandwich of some sort lol. When it was time to go, there were people ready to take over our table but not an insane line for people waiting. The staff did a great job of pacing everyone for both their food and waiting to be seated. Several local folks stopped by for pick up orders. The hospitality style of this spot lends itself to a quick turnover and serving a large amount of people quickly. SG's had a phenomenal energy and casual, fun ambiance. The service was fantastic and exactly what is described on their website. Having been there now, the reviews stating that their service is bad feel off base and pretentious. Once the staff member shared the how they did things, all other service expectations were met and exceeded. I loved not having to wait for anyone to put in my order, etc. I suspect some of the negative feedback on this is generational but unwarranted.
