La Matapenas - Sevilla

16 of us had booked for what we expected would be tapas (as it describes itself as a tapas restaurant), however the menu was nothing like tapas, so we had to chose what were more like main courses to share. We arrived quite late due to a delayed flight, however called ahead to check they could still accommodate us, which they said the could. When we arrived they announced they would stop taking food orders in 5 minutes!!! As I mentioned we arrived quite late, but didn't worry too much as they say they close at 2.00am, however come 1.00am they effectively threw us out as they wanted to close. Not impressed at all. The food we had was very good, but the whole experience very poor, they need some training in customer service, Wont be returning!

We visited here based on other reviews, and were fortunate that there was live music as a bonus. The music was delightful and the Tapas were great. I highly recommend the sea bass ceviche and the steak. We had 6 plates and a bottle of wine for €74. It was a great deal and great fun.

In the evening time we was waiting before opening time. Finally they are open! Staff doesnt care us. they are 3 and was talking. just only me and friends was the first table . but didnt get the good service. I am near to go out but my friends wanna test the foods .then we got the table.we asked for a good wine but the waitress cant explain us which wine are good.and later came the another not sure if was the owner or the manager cos dress the different uniform.later we was waiting just for 1 bottle of wine near 20 mins.we really dont understand! all the time we are listening they are talking and laughing .And there are without music.Well we like the foods ,very good and very different ,Feel pity the place and foods cos there are very nice. Hope They do something and be better.

Excelente restaurante! no te dejará indiferente. hermoso lugar para cenar con una excelente música de la mano de niño rosemer y fede baena con un rollo que lo voltea y una deliciosa comida! excelente la torta de chocolate impresionante, delicioso y 2 botellas de vino, un río del propietario, y un espectacular vino de caza de la sierra de sevilla. ¡Eso sí! come una meada antes de por qué las raciones son pequeñas pero muy buenas!

Excelente restaurante de fusión! ¡Abrió hace dos meses! excelentes platos muy bien presentados y de exquisito sabor! personal muy atento! ¡Amplio local!
