From the moment you walk in, you'll feel as if you've been transported to a different era of imperial China. I ordered one of their lunch specials, but I found the food to be a bit disappointing. Given that I'm from San Francisco, I realize it's not entirely fair to compare Chinese cuisine anywhere else, except perhaps in the Far East. However, I don't want to be too harsh, as it can be challenging to find good Asian food in Alaska or in many rural areas across America, so I genuinely appreciate their presence. Plus, the restaurant's authentic decor saves you the time and expense of a long flight on Pan Am or Cathay Pacific to Asia. Perhaps I'm showing my age with that reference! Hopefully, this review will encourage the owners to enhance their culinary offerings a bit more and provide diners with a truly exceptional experience of fresh, delicious Chinese food, which can be an extraordinary delight for the taste buds when prepared correctly.
Peking Chinese Restaurant was fantastic! After spending a full day exploring Seward and enjoying a Glacier Cruise Tour, the fresh, hot food at Peking Chinese was exactly what we needed. The service was quick, and our meals arrived shortly after we ordered. Our server was very attentive to our needs. We opted for a few dishes to share family-style, and everything was delicious—we finished every last bite. If you're in the mood for some great Asian cuisine, this is definitely the place to go!
Good, fresh food! Chung pao chicken, wonton soup and chicken chow mein were pretty flavorful- perfect meal post hiking in the cold and rain.
3 1/2 stars All you can eat Chinese buffet for 10.95. Owner is friendly. Buffet offers Chinese dishes. Mongolian beef, fried rice, chow main, soups, and etc... I really enjoyed hot sour soup, sweet sour chicken and Chinese donuts.
Great service. Kind staff. Food came fast. The Mongolian beef and Chow main were the favorites. 1 of the kids normally will not eat Chinese food, this was the first time he liked anything at a Chinese restaurant. He ordered the fried chicken wings but ended up eating lots of the other dishes. I was not impressed with the sesame chicken. I was the only one to like the Kang Pao halibut, a little to spicy for the rest of the family.
