However, amongst all Seward's spectacular vistas, this meal is at the bottom of the visit thus far. While the wait staff is absolutely pleasant and professional two strips of overly fried halibut with unremarkable frozen fries at $37 a plate was embarassing to an Alaskan. The Salmon Sammi was a garbage chunk of salmon in which the onions and sauce didn’t mask its relative blandness, and my kid who never refuses any mac n cheese could barely choke it down as it was flavorless, lacked any cheese, and was mostly overly cooked noodles. For a party of 6 (2 adults) this $150 meal (including tip) was a sad recognition of how far both unreasonable inflation and gouging tourists has come. Disappointing.
Full disclosure: although I do not work for this restaurant, (or any restaurant for that matter), I do work for the same brand. Although I work for the brand I can honestly say this review contains no biases, I would just not review it if it was a bad experience, the have nothing nice to say don 't say it all way. The experience I and my guests had during lunch was fabulous. The view is spectacular overlooking resurrection bay. There was an upbeat energy throughout the crowd and the dish I had was delicious! Blueberry Quinoa Salad with halibut was scrumptious. My guests had fish and chips and couldn 't stop raving about the French fries. Between the view, the portion, the friendliness of the wait staff and the quality I will absolutely be recommending this place and returning.
So pleasantly surprised about our impromptu meal here before popping back on the train back to Anchorage. Super warm staff beautiful interior with dark woods, felt like a modern speakeasy. Food incredible. We wanted something light and the crab cake and soup was a great choice. Seafood chowder and reindeer stew both fabulous and filling! They don't skimp on ingredients. They have house wines the red Pinot noir was a perfect pairing with the meal. This was my favorite restaurant meal during our trip. Ask for a spot by the window for some pretty glacial views and people watching.
Other than waiting for seating for a long time because of a solitary waiter/host, our experience was excellent. The food arrived promptly and was excellent. They had great local beers on tap to complement their creative menu. My son and I split several items that were all wonderful beet and goat cheese salad, warm bread with bmchevre cheese and raspberry jam and bacon and goat cheese fries. We were in heaven. My husband loved his burger and fries too, which his subbed ailioli with a high quality mustard that he thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely revisit Sea Salt on our next visit to Seward.
Not a lot of places open on a Wednesday night in Seward so Seasalt it was! Came here with a party of 5 and we were seated within 10 minutes. There is indoor seating, as well as expansive outdoor deck seating. Also, a bar that would make one believe there is an expansive cocktail menu...which there is not (only premixed cocktails, beer and wine). I order the brioche bread appetizer and chowder. Portions are small, and the food is OK. It won't blow your socks off, but it will fill the belly after a long day of fishing. Overall it gets the job done, but don't expect to be amazed.
