When we arrived the boss told us that the menue is limited and the chief of the kitchen will come to our table to tell us what is possible to get. So it happened...and the offered dishes were delicious. The wine was very well too...and the service was perfekt. They did a great job and we were happy. Well done.
This is a nice and rustique restaurant around a butchery and a vineyard. The food was good and more than plenty, the wine was excellent, the personnel friendly. We had the chance to come early and were well served. Unfortunately one of their wines made in into Decanter 2017 and got there some 90 points which affected the prices, if one wants to buy bottles. At our departure Restaurant and parkign lot were jammed and the personnel under stress.
My colleagues in Trieste invited me to the Bajta and it was a great evening. The meals are delicious and very tasty. The choices are limited but there should be something on the menu for everybody. This might be related to the fact that a lot of the offers are self produced The seating area is very nice, sitting outside feels like being in a park. Although it is a bit of a drive from downtown Trieste into the hills is worth spending the time to go there. Also if you don't want to eat, a lot of stuff is offered for selling (like wine) and it might be a great take-away.
Farmhouse with indoor and outdoor tables. As it is cold we choose the interior and we put near the fireplace on. Menu written on a sheet of there are several local dishes. We take a tartare appetizer, two baked pork cheek dishes (excellent) and a beef cut. All with contour. a bottle of water, two glasses of local wine and desserts at the price of € restaurant prices and not from farm. Nice but a little distractated
We spent one night here coming from Trieste airport: it is very easy to reach by car, just 25 minutes. It is immersed in nature as part of a local farm and restaurant. The area is very quiet, but less than 30 minutes from the centre of Trieste. The owner Irene was vey kind and helpful with us. The rooms were nice and clean: we slept very well. The breakfast was delicious, offering local natural products and served in their garden. I would strongly recommend this place and I will come back when we are in the area.
