Duffer's Grill - Shallotte

This is the best Philly Cheese Steak I've ever had! My husband and I visited for the first time, and we will definitely return after our next round of golf in the area. The service was outstanding, and our waitstaff was really friendly.

Ordered beer battered fish with pasta salad and coleslaw. The batter is way too thick!! The fish inside (haddock) was plenty and delicious. I did not eat the batter. Coleslaw was good. Pasta salad was served in a tiny bowl and horrible. Service and atmosphere were just so so.

I've always appreciated the Old Place, and the New Place is really lovely. The food was as good as ever, but it's clear they're experiencing staffing shortages like many others. The service was decent, but the staff could use a bit more urgency and efficiency. That’s the only reason I didn’t give it a full five stars.

I went to lunch with a friend I had not seen in ten years. The food was good but right when our meal started someone from the kitchen came to our table and asked how our meal was which was fine. He then pulled up a chair and sat with us for most of our meal. We didn?t want to be rude but we would have preferred to enjoy our meal by ourselves. The wait staff was awesome but we thought it was inappropriate to join us for our meal.

Wife I tried it late this afternoon and food was great. Nice portions for the price. French Dip and Patty Melt recommended. Sat at the bar and Ally took great care of us. We will be back.
