We decided to give this place an attempt, yes it is Cafe chic charm was filled to point with expats (or foreigners you choose, I am foreigner) for Instagramable moments. The menu that I found confusing (see other users photo), I asked if they were a separate vegan menu, they did not! Apart from avocado on toast without feta, there was only one other article and two cakes. Since they charge extra for cashew milk in coffee, I wonder if they don't withdraw money for feta? We split a feta free avocado on toast that was good, had cashew milk coffee also well and the two vegan cakes: raspberry and lime, chocolate, cinnamon chili. The cake portions were large, but the icing whatever it was made was simply sweet and too much of it, the actual cake part was very delicious. I will not make a trip here, especially as there are much better places with more options nearby like Pure Whole. I gave him another attempt to say a few more articles that they can be made vegan, but the day we went the vegan buckwheat pancakes were not available, this was at 9 a.m., so there is not much point in the list of vegan things when they are only sometimes available. My girlfriend and my assistant shared the avocado on the mushrooms on toast that they really enjoyed, I had the banana bread toast that was good, but I really wanted the pancake. I am told that this place has a cook that is vegan, which is why one of the reasons why I find this place so subduing for vegans, I will not disturb back.
Very beautiful and beautiful, very western. The food is really good, they have some vegan options, some others can be made vegan easily. The staff is really nice and friendly! It is not the cheapest, but definitely a great place to go when you long an avocado toast in Shanghai!
This is your standard instagramable white wall green plant café, ideal for working there with a Macbook or meet your expat friends for lunch. Irony also, I enjoyed reading my time and working there. The staff is really friendly and attentive to my special wishes: had a nice bitter icey Matcha Latte with Oatley Hafermilch 5 RMB extra as well as an interesting black Sesam Latte with its homemade Cashew milk also 5 RMB extra. The price of a total of 75 RMB is high for two drinks, but again: it is Shanghai, and I would like to return. Some of their dishes are veganizable! Note: You are super heavy on AC! It was at 16 degrees Celsius and I went with goose bumps.
This place has a brunchy, cafe feel, the kind of place you can sit and work on your laptop. Super English friendly. The boards with drink and special menus are exclusively in English! Really meant for foreigners. And they offer both English and Chinese menus. And, in spite of their putting on egg on everything, they are quite vegan friendly and a rather popular spot for local vegan foreigners. They have a vegan menu, and vegan specials like vegan french toast waffles they take waffles, and then they fry it like french toast! I ordered the avocado toast and the mushroom tacos. Both were pretty good but nothing special. Also ordered the vegan pumpkin pie, which was terrible. So, the food is fine but nothing to rush out and try. Note that my rating may be harsher than some because I have very high expectations from living in NYC. Updated from previous review on 2019 01 25
