Fischer's at Baslow Hall is located in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, a place I hadn't yet explored. Our meal there was the icing on the cake for a wonderful day spent exploring and even doing some wild swimming (I highly recommend doing it just outside Chatsworth House).
The kitchen is very English with a modern touch, but on a very refined level, with the most important local ingredients such as the derbyshire swarm. we have booked for
Fischer’s at Baslow Hall is a Michelin-starred restaurant ranked 29th in the 2014 Good Food Guide. Located in Derbyshire, about an hour away from some, this restaurant with rooms maintains a homemade feeling that reflects the approach of owners Max and Susan Fisher. Having been lucky enough to try a number of leading country house hotels like Lords of the Manor , and Ockenden Manor , my benchmarks are certainly in place and I think I know what to expect. My by now familiar routine: 7:30 for 8, a seat by the fire, a gin tonic or Martini to...read more
