Visited this cafe with a friend and on walking in I felt a tad disappointed, it didn’t smell nice and it didn’t have a welcoming feeling that most cafes have. It’s a basic looking cafe that is overpriced for what it is. The staff were friendly enough, there are vegan and vegetarian options available.
The food is simple but good quality. No fuss kinda food. The prices are reasonable. It's brilliant that they grow a lot of their own produce as well. Will be visiting again.
I visited this restaurant midweek and was greeted by the lovely smell of soup. Since my companion and I do not enjoy lentils, we opted for a toastie and coffee instead. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the establishment left much to be desired. The mug provided for the coffee looked like it had never been properly cleaned. The tables were sticky and we had to use a baby wipe to clean ours. One staff member had unkempt fingernails with blood around them, and handled food without gloves. This was a major turn off for us, leading us to discard the toasties in the bin. Additionally, a female staff member made negative comments about the size and value of the brownies offered. The high prices we paid did not match the small portions and lack of quality service. The only saving grace was the availability of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the taste of the food as we did not eat it.
Enjoyed a hot drink and a scone with jam and cream here. Nice to rest at when walking around the farm- it is a well-deserved treat for getting up the hill. Thought the prices were really fair.
