Dog friendly, with welcoming , efficient staff. Excellent food with good atmosphere. Great selection of cask ales and lagers.

Great food and better service. Lovely bunch of people and great value too. Would give 6 stars if I could. Was a big fan of the spicy hot wings!

Amazing meal at the rising sun, especially the evening set menu. 11.29 2 course set, crispy mushrooms portion was huge and tasted great, gammon main course with chips eggs and peas was cooked to perfection by chef Helen. Thank-you Mark and Lorraine for the warm hospitality looking forward to seeing you again soon

Don’t go if you’re expecting good food and service. Food was not hot in 2 out of the 3 meals and one meal arrived at least 7 minutes after the first 2. Ordered a cheese and bacon burger which came without bacon and the cheese was barely noticeable. When we complained, the waitress went away and came back 8 minutes later with 2 strips of bacon in a dish. We commented at the bar when paying but were just told the chef would be informed! We have complained in writing twice via the Ember Inns complaint system and had no response other than an email asking how they dealt with our complaint. Hard to comment when they haven’t even acknowledged never mind dealt with either complaint! Won’t be visiting again!

Lovely food , excellent service. Young female manager was especially helpful, nothing was too much to ask.
