Good value fish and chips in a real old fashioned chippy, freshly cooked and the owner is such a friendly lady.

The fish and chips were OK, nothing special. But the value was impressive. £5.50 for large cod and small chips. The cod was fresh cooked and the amount of chips was high considering they were small . As cod is reckoned a prime fish these days, this was by modern standards a bargain.

I have gone to this fish and chip shop annually for the last 4 years when snooker is on at the crucible theatre and thoroughly enjoyed a sit in meal.. However on this occasion recently on Saturday 4thMay 2019 the meal was well below standard.I had to wait 20 minutes for the fish to be freshly cooked.When it arrived,the batter was completely dark brown and burned.It was dreadful. I have now decided to look elsewhere on my next visit to Sheffield and after this experience, would advise others to follow my lead
