The coffee shop looked great. Nice and quiet place for people that wanna study or work on something. If you order a mokaccino make sure to ask with less whip cream because your bowl will just be cold and you gonna need to ask someone to heat it up in the microwaves. The quantity of the food vs the price of the pastas were a bit exagerated. We paid 8 bucks for a bowl of onion soup and we had more than our friend that paid 22 for a tiny bowl of pastas
The place is big and the decor is nice..the food can be better
I went to Caffuccino 1269 Rue King E last Thursday March 15th. I was there with three of my friends, the waitress had seated us down in the banquettes upstairs. It was poorly lit, I could barely read my menu. There was the over head light fixtures hanging above each table. I reached up to lightly touch it to see if it would get lighter and the whole fixture came crashing down on our table. Glass flew everywhere! Glass was on our face, in our mouth, and all over our bodies. Glass on the two other banquettes beside us. Our waitress came rushing over, she only asked us once if we were ok, after that she told us to go sit at another table. She gave me a rude look as she thought I had done this on purpose. The bar tender came rushing up just to say in French “oh my god what happened” and she ran back downstairs. She embarrassed us. Our waitress no longer wanted to be our waitress she passed us off to another person. She never once came back over to us to ask if we were ok. The manage came up stairs and did NOT SAY ONE WORD TO US. All he did was help clean the table that we were no longer sitting at, he did not even look at us. He touched all the other light fixtures and none of them broke like how ours did. They even asked a couple who were in their forties sitting at the booth beside us if they were ok more than they asked us. This should never of happened in a restaurant, and your restaurant is setting itself up for a lawsuit. I do not think they realized how dangerous this could of potentially been. Our new waitress proceeded to take care of us however, I was disgusted at how our old waitress treated us and how the manager never once came over to us. I asked our new waitress for our old waitress to come over. I explained to her that it was me who reached up and put my hand up and the light fixture fell. I explained to her that this could of been someone’s head as they stand up since the lighting is so low. She got rude and defensive and she said “well I asked you if you were ok”. I said you asked us once and then you passed us off to someone else to deal with. I asked to speak to the manager. I explained to him what happened, I told him how rude I found it that no one came to see us after to ask if we were ok. I said there was no compensation and that his team is really setting themselves up for a lawsuit as my friend even got it in her mouth. His way of a compensation was free drinks. Are you kidding me? That is all your team will offer us after what happened? You can count on me that I will never be going back to your restaurant, and in fact I will be telling my friends and family not to go there after how we were treated. I am disgusted, embarrassed and hurt by this restaurant.
The coffee shop has a lovely atmosphere, making it a nice, quiet spot for anyone looking to study or work on a project. If you order a mocha cappuccino, be sure to request less whipped cream, or else your drink will cool down quickly, and you’ll have to ask someone to heat it up in the microwave. Additionally, the portion sizes of the food compared to the prices of the pasta dishes seemed a bit off. We paid $8 for a generous bowl of onion soup, while our friend spent $22 for a tiny bowl of pasta.
