Feedback gevenWhen I came to this restaurant, I just went for my wife. She's meitei and she believed in Manipuri life. She told me that the restaurant was not so good two years ago when she worked in the area. But... it was the only restaurant that Manipuri had food, so we came here. My wife was shocked that the food was so delicious, unlike the food she had eaten a few years ago. She said it tasted like a housewife. She loved the Kangsoi, Eromba, Sinus and the chicken cure. She was so happy. I didn't eat because I'm new to manipuri food and being honest, I don't like it so much. At the third visit to this restaurant, I decided to try the pig cure. And it was fucking good. It was spicy, but the taste was amazing. It tasted like Si krom(Southern Thai type of pork curry from Thailand. We discovered that a few months ago the main cook was changed to a new cook, Mr. Gyaneshwor. The cook was humble and friendly. Especially his food is fucking good! I've married to a meitei woman, but I wasn't big fan of Manipuri food (I'm Korean But I can Chef Gyaneshwor's food all day long. No kidding. Next time we come back to Shillong, we'll come every day. Thanks for the great food experience!
Felt like home cooked food. Each dish had its own unique taste. Cooked in less oil but tasty. The owner (who cooks the food) had decorated the place nicely to show the Manipuri culture.
Loved the Veg thali. The decor and ambience leads you to the subtle nuances of the Manipuri culture.
I went there twice, but the taste was different. The first time was really good, I can feel the pure Manipuri Aromatic Eromba and everyone. But the second was completely different, it's just bamboo shoot and Aloo. But the fish cure was really good. Overall, it is a really good restaurant for introducing Manipuri dishes to your friends.
I loved the way how well the chicken was cooked. It was tender and flavourful. The vibe of the place is amazeballs, worth a visit and the food here is worth being tasted. The owner is a good happy man, who enjoys his life so well. Everything here was so good that I might be visiting this place again at night for dinner (DID I TELL YOU THEY SERVE BASIC FOOD TILL 10:30!, even if you're late af in Shillong, you'll be fine by it)
