Without a doubt, this is the best Peruvian chicken I've ever had. It's truly a hidden gem. I've sampled numerous Peruvian chicken restaurants from Washington, D.C., to San Diego, and this one surpasses them all. The flavors permeate the entire chicken, enhanced by a perfect blend of spices. The owner mentioned that the traditional oven is key to achieving the authentic taste, and I can confirm that they absolutely nail it! If you're in search of top-notch Peruvian chicken, you must make a stop here!
I walked into Los Pollos Hermanos and was delightfully surprised! My mother is from Peru and has eleven siblings, so I've grown up with Peruvian cuisine. I ordered the Seco De Res and Papa a la Huancaina, both of which were incredible and brought back memories of my grandmothers' and mother's cooking. Brian was an excellent host and enjoyable to chat with. If you're searching for genuine and authentic Peruvian food, you have to give this place a try—you won't be disappointed!
During my first visit, I tried the ceviche and returned for the jalea. Both dishes were fantastic and served in generous portions. The chicha morada was also very good. However, what really stood out to me were the sauces. The homemade green, yellow, and red sauces were incredibly flavorful, and I can’t stop talking about them to anyone who will listen. They actually inspired me to write this review, my first one here! I really think the restaurant should consider selling the sauces separately—I would love to use them with all kinds of dishes. Just a heads up, they do have a bit of spiciness to them, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to heat.
The food is really good, the service is really good. I like this place. The only critique I have is that the 2nd time I went the restaurant had intoxicated people being loud. So, dont let drunk visitors ruin your business. I have seen many Hispanic restaurants where they allow intoxicated people stay too long, because they buy beer and alcohol, which in return ruined their business image. This led these businesses loose family oriented customers and couples no longer wanting to go there because they didnt like the atmosphere. Consequently, they had to close because they werent making enough. Recommendation: Stick to family oriented customers, if you want intoxicated customers split your business in two; a grocery and a bar.
