The Terrace At Hilton - Short Hills

My family traveled from the countryside to bring my daughter to New Jersey for an operation. We arrived at the hotel on June 26, 2021 (booked for 8 nights) only to find that it was closed! My 8-year-old daughter, who is in a wheelchair, and I were left stranded without a place to stay. Despite receiving 6 emails confirming our reservation, the hotel was not open when we arrived. After trying several nearby hotels, we finally found one on our 5th attempt. We were only able to stay there for one night before having to move again. It is unbelievable that they are still accepting bookings when they are closed. I attempted to call multiple times and finally reached someone on June 28. However, when I explained that we arrived on the 26th and the hotel was closed, they simply went silent and then hung up on me. This is unacceptable and I will not let it go unnoticed.

This restaurant used to be a very high-end and trendy hotel back in the 1990s. Even in September 2011, it was still maintaining a high level of standards. However, it has now transformed into a more average four-star hotel. Despite this, there is nothing wrong with the hotel. The shopping center is still beautiful. It holds a special place in our hearts as it was where we discovered we were expecting our first son shortly after the 11th of September. These two significant events occurring within just a few days of each other will always make this place memorable for us.

I spent 3 nights at this Hilton location last fall while visiting relatives in the NJ NYC area. The room was beautifully decorated as well as very comfortable and clean. There was a wedding that weekend yet the noise did not permeate the entire hotel so sleep was possible. The front desk was attentive, housekeeping was discrete, and the location was easy to use as a home base while traveling around the area. Plus, the Short Hills Mall is right across the street, so I was able to walk over and grab a few gifts. Maybe not much else in walking distance so you will need a car to get around). This hotel's accommodations had the feel of a Four Seasons or Ritz for a much more reasonable price. Overall, truly one of the nicest Hilton hotels I've visited and will stay here again.

That in the past 12 months they have gone from free overnight parking to $10/day to now $18/day for a lot that is open to the public. So in other words, if you visit the hotel for lunch, a meeting etc. you park for free. But if you actually pay to stay there, you will also pay $18/day for parking your car. It is outrageous!
