I absolutely hate writing negative reviews, I don't think I've ever rated 1 star before. But this Wetherspoons is so hit and miss. I've been here about 6 times in August, some times are okay, other times it's the worst experience I've ever had. Staff are rude and seriously don't want to be there, your meals will get served 40 minutes apart, meaning that you won't get to eat at the same time (with no apology or explanation as to why it's so late), you may then find that items from your meal are missing. Upon asking a member of staff if you could please have the item that is missing (that's if they don't ignore you), they will rudely run off and shove it to you. They will lie about running out of ketchup (I only know it's a lie as we asked a different member of staff and they provided us with it). My partner and I absolutely hate complaining, as we have both worked in catering ourselves and know how it works. However, I've never experienced customer service (more like customer repellent) quite like this. Something needs to change imminently.
A very smart looking Spoons set in rural Shropshire. The location isn't very accessible using public transport from Birmingham, so we drove. If you do decide to visit athis one using public transport from Birmingham then as you may have to travel to Shrewsbury or Stoke then on from there. We a vegetarian lasagna with side salad, breaded vegetable burger with chips and a side order if peas. For drinks orange juice and unlimited coffee all for around £12. I did tip due to the friendliness of the female server, Katie
I am a regular at this pub because of its great prices for drinks and food. I come here often, usually several times a week. My family and I eat here at least once a week. However, there is a big issue with the staff. There are many young employees who need to improve their service skills, especially in terms of knowing who to serve next. It is frustrating to see customers who have been waiting for a long time being overlooked while others are served before them. This "who's next?" question seems to be a common problem among all of the serving staff, as if it is a requirement of the job to ask it every time. This recurring issue happens every night, hour after hour. If the bar staff cannot be bothered to pay attention to who is next and consistently pass the responsibility onto the customers waiting to be served, it leads to problems, as I have seen multiple times. It is chaotic. I have witnessed customers arguing about who was next, often falsely accusing each other of cutting in line. Sometimes, only one barman is left to serve 8 or 10 customers while others go on break, which is unacceptable. Thankfully, some of the problematic female bar staff have left, and it seems that there are now younger male employees with a better attitude. Hopefully, things will improve.
I visited this restaurant on Wednesday, which happened to be market day. It was fairly crowded at 10:30 am. Our breakfast arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered and we were very happy with both the quality and quantity of the food. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly.
