As one of the party is celiac, and has other allergies, we phoned well in advance and spoke to the chef who offered to provide Gluten Free fajitas. Overall, most people were...happy with their food but the GF fajitas arrived without fajitas ! The waitress said there were none available but she would ask the chef to explain. He didn't ! We then asked if there was GF bread available but there was none. In fairness to the staff they reduced the bill by but having phoned well in advance we were very disappointed that no effort had been made to recognise the importance of providing GF alternatives.
We decided to ignore previous reviews and personal advice and chose to walk to the nearest restaurant. When we arrived on a Saturday evening, we found that there was no need to book a table. We opted to sit in the bar by a cozy fire, which was a better choice compared to the bland dining room at the back of the pub. The menu mainly consisted of typical "pub food." Unfortunately, when we requested a tomato juice, we were told it was not available due to lack of demand. They also did not have white wine, with only one beer option available. The menu choices were limited, with some items unavailable such as the pie, leading two of our party to settle for scampi and chips. However, the mushroom tagliatelle and chicken fajitas were delicious and served hot and freshly cooked. Our evening was saved by a young waitress who went above and beyond to assist us, taking care of the kitchen, bar, and serving us with a friendly and helpful attitude. She was definitely the highlight of our dining experience at this establishment.
Called whilst travelling home from holiday wanting a quick meal. First impressions from the outside were that it is in need of tlc but inside the staff were very welcoming and the food and drink was very good, and excellent value for money. Have been...in far more pretentious places where the food was not as good so maybe in time this place will get a makeover and be the place to go.
The staff at the restaurant gave us a warm welcome. The bar staff were pleasant and professional during our visit in the late afternoon. The venue was clean and organized, and despite its size, it felt very cozy.
We visited on the off chance on our way back from Wroxeter Roman City. Thought we’d have a drink as it was a nice day. Found a table got drinks then debated food. There weren’t any menu’s outside, so maybe some to think about doing,...but hubby went an enquired inside. We both had Sunday lunch which was really nice, tasty and plentiful. We had beef pork it came with cabbage, cauliflower carrots all in a separate dish, on the plate with the meat were roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and a swede potato mash, think there was stuffing on hubby’s as he had pork. We think it’s under new management as the lady that served us our food said she hadn’t been there long. Very nice lady, as was our visit. Would definitely return in the future.
