Waterdine - Shropshire

I called in hopes of having a wonderful lunch experience. Unfortunately, the owner informed me that her husband, who was the renowned chef, had passed away last year. As a result, she was no longer serving meals to those who were not staying at the hotel.

We stayed for dinner bed and breakfast and enjoyed some of the finest cooking around! It 's the third time we 've visited, but our first overnight stay, and we brought friends along too. Isabel and Ken are the perfect hosts and long may they and the Waterdine continue to be one of the 'jewels of the Marches '!

Just back after a lovely weekend staying at The Waterdine. What a gem. Charming building in most peaceful village on the Wales England border. Beautiful location. Most warm welcome from Ken and Isobel nothing too much trouble. The evening meal among the best we've had seasonal foor Ken certainly talented chef. Venison top notch. Home grown veg amd homemade bread makes the dining experience here even more special. Breakfast best I've had.. Truly can't faiult The Waterdine. Will be back ASAP. Thank you Ken and Isobel.

If your looking for excellent food,pleasant surroundings and really nice people, then this is the place for you. We have had some meals here over the years but this is the first time we have stayed the night. It is out of the way but definitely worth finding. Ken Adams is one of the best chefs we have come across. Extremely quiet and very comfortable place to stay the night plus an excellent breakfast. Wonderful view across the valley and a birds paradise, couldn't take our eyes off the bird feeders in the morning when having breakfast.

As Ludlow locals we can say this is in our top 3 restaurants in the area and we are happy to drive the half an hour to get there. The service by Isobel is friendly and welcoming and the food by Ken outstanding; imaginative, clever taste combinations and different every time we go. Sweet little Welsh cottage, unspoilt, with a wonderful view over the Welsh mountains.
