Upon seeing the unappetizing appearance of the dishes being served, I was hesitant. When I tried to order the kampua mee listed on the sign, the young server informed me in Mandarin that they were sold out. Despite my confusion, the server did not switch to English and simply repeated that they were sold out. It seems that English is not spoken at this stall. The server provided the usual noodle options of kway teow, bee hoon, mee suah soup, or fried noodles. I opted for the fried kway teow, which turned out to be too greasy and lacked flavor. Thankfully, I had mistakenly forgotten to request no egg, giving me an excuse not to eat it. Although this place may be convenient for those seeking vegetarian options when other restaurants are closed, the quality of the food leaves much to be desired.
The large sign outside the stall doesn't indicate that it's a vegetarian restaurant, however, there is a small sign on the window with the word "vegetarian" in English and Chinese, along with names and praises of a few noodle dishes. I started to have doubts as soon as I saw how the dishes were served: they looked rather inconspicuous. When I pointed to the kampua mee on the sign, the young server told me in Mandarin that they were out of it. I expected him to switch to English after looking confused, but he only spoke in Mandarin. It seems that no one speaks English at this stall. The server offered the usual selection of noodles like kway teow, bee hoon, mee suah soup, or fried noodles. I tried the fried kway teow, which was too oily for my liking and lacked flavor. Luckily, I didn't request for it to be made quickly, so I had a good excuse not to eat it. This place is open when all the other eateries in the area are closed, which could be useful for some people who may need a meal at odd hours. However, don't expect too much from this place.
