Le Colonial Chicago - side

My boyfriend and I came here on a date last week. Atmosphere 10/10. People beside us sucked though (1/10). Food: 9/10 — We got the scallop salad (loved), spring rolls (loved), tuna tartare (so so), and a banging salad w/beef which we don't remember the name of. All in all, great spot.

Dark with classy romantic vibes. Food was amazing, and the serving staff was very knowledgeable about the dishes!

Superb Vietnamese fusion food in a nice new location. Visited both locations of the same restaurant and the food quality is consistent. Highly recommend it!

Food was fine. No complains there. I do have major misgivings about its name and all the decors (specifically the pictures hung on the wall) which (to me) celebrates the shameful history of the colonialism and French occupation of Indochina). I find them very offensive as a POC. I went there based on some good recommendations of friends, at which time I didn’t think much about its name. Only after I went there did I have this emotion.
