Shula's Steak House - side

I love me some steak! We never tried Shula when we lived in Florida, so for our anniversary trip to Chicago we decided to dine there, being in the same hotel we stayed. I can tell you that it’s overpriced, to the point that I felt that I was going to get charged if I breathed too much. Nothing was excellent or original, starting with the bread service, and finishing with the Costco chocolate cake. My first and last for sure.

Overall just not great. Service was not good- she was rude and barely there. Took at least 7-10 mins to even order a drink. Food was not great. No one said they loved it- most were just eh it's food it's fine.

The onion soup and lobster bisque were both excellent. Both our steaks were overcooked. (Medium well, instead of medium rare. I ordered a side lobster tail, which was cooked well. We also ordered the broccolini, which was greasy. The truffle fries tasted good, but were also very greasy. The large Crème Brule had too thick of a crust on the top. It was not good. The restaurant was quiet and seemed clean. However, for the cost of the food, there are much better places to eat in Chicago.

The food was good but nothing special. The service was terrible and I mean really terrible!! What server does not refill the drinks, forgets to bring the side out for the meal (even after asking twice) but the worst was the sarcastic attitude of the server, he just was not a person who was doing even the basics. THIS WAS A BUSINESS DINNER and I was so embarrassed that I had picked Shula's Steak House for our meeting. Also the restaurant was loud and many drunk customers. Last time I will ever eat at Shula's.

The service and food here were fantastic. We went to some other high end restaurants on our trip but this was by far the best. The service was particularly good.
