Last May I was travelling with my mother and daughter on a beautiful May day on Vancouver island. We had time while waiting for a ferry and decided on ice cream. We went into the Jumping Bean and ordered 3 cups of iced cream. One of which had chocolate chunks. So I enjoyed my iced cream outside and was sucking on a chunk of chocolate which was not getting any smaller. So I took it out of my mouth. To my dismay I found I had been sucking on a FALSE NAIL. I went into the store demanding a refund, completely disgusted. The woman working was not at all apologetic and would only refund one of the iced creams. She was even laughing about it and could not understand why I was so disturbed. This woman should have been wearing gloves and adhering to food safety standards in the first place. She was then very aggressive towards me for warning other customers to be careful of finger nails in their iced cream. A fair warning. I can no longer eat iced cream!
We visited for ice cream. We ordered and then were told there was no paper in the debit machine and it could not be used. My husband went to get money from a debit machine at a nearby grocery store. While my son and I were waiting, a lady came back in with ice cream she had just purchased. She said, "this was in my mouth." She showed the cashier an artificial fingernail. The cashier said, " I'll give you a new one. What do you want"? The lady said, "I don't want any more. I had a finger nail in my mouth. That is disgusting. I want my money back. All of it" the cashier said, "one of my nails fell off." The lady replied, "it is disgusting." The cashier said, "how is it disgusting? They are part of my hands." She held up her hands, showing long, purple, artificial nails. The cashier said "I'll give you your money back." The lady said, "I want it all back, I had a fingernail in my mouth." (The lady had bought more than one ice cream). The cashier said she would only give the money back for one ice cream. The lady said, fine and left the store. The cashier never once apologized and was hostile towards this customer throughout the entire incident. Luckily no fingernails in our ice cream! Definitely will not be returning there. It is a shame as we have been before and always enjoyed our experience.
This restaurant is amazing. The cappuccino was the smoothest and most delicious I have ever had.
The staff at this restaurant were incredibly friendly, and we discovered that they served the best espresso drinks in the surrounding area. We visited every day during our time in Bordeaux!
