While their social media presence may need updating, the food and service are excellent and the new space is beautiful - bright, clean, and attractive. This family-run operation by husband and wife may have a wait time, but the fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented dishes make it worth it. We have enjoyed everything we've ordered on multiple visits and consider it worth traveling for. Lucky to have them in our neighborhood.
I have visited this restaurant several times for takeout and have always received amazing service. Even though I stopped coming for about a year when I moved away, the owners recognized me instantly and welcomed me back warmly. The sushi is delicious! I will definitely be returning soon.
Stopped in here for a few rolls and some Sashimi. The prices were excellent and the sizes good (not huge which was nice.) The fish was flavourful and the rice soft. There was no sloppy sauces or mayo drizzle on any of the rolls which made me very happy. Yami sushi let the fish and rice speak for itself! I would come back here in a heart beat! Try the house roll and their Toro Sashimi. This is by far one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to on the west coast.....and I've tried quite a few. Check this place out and you will not be disappointed.
We had take out for four hungry people. This small restaurant is welcoming and atrractive and is run by Japanese people--a good sign. Because we were in a hurry, I ordered california rolls, dynamite rolls and pork gyozi. Despite being busy, we had the order in the promised 15 minutes. All three selections were quite good with generous amounts of salmon, tuna and whitefish. All were fresh and tasty, particularly the gyozis.
This restaurant in Sidney has closed and is relocating to Brentwood. I am eagerly awaiting the opening of Yami. I frequently check through the window to see when it will be open.
