We were on a Monday when the restaurant was closed, and the hotel was very quiet. We enjoy a tea in the cozy library near the lobby. We took breakfast with our reservation and received a voucher to go the corner to the local bakery that was very funny!
We enjoyed our stay at Siglunes Hotel. The room was comfortable great views and blackout shades. The restaurant was delicious. We would have eaten two meals here if there were more menu options. The hotel has a beautiful seating area and hot tub and several areas in the lobby to relax. Give 4 stars because we missed the breakfast and snacks we stopped during the breakfast hours to find no breakfast and no hot water for tea. Luckily there is a bakery a block away. Would we be in the area?
Stay here 25. June for 1 night. Was enchanted by the city and thought the redesign of the room was cute. Originally thought it was a good stay that changed. First, the playground is right in front of the guest house, and because the sun rises almost all day, the children go up to about 1030PM. That would be good if the building were soundproof at all. I understand it's old, but I wish it's reflected in the price. Secondly, someone as much as rolls in her bed you can hear it. You need earplugs. Ultimately, but probably my most favorite, is the shower. The shower has no real door, so the water runs over the bathroom floor and even into the main room. We tried to hack it, but the grass was cracked so that the water came under the tiles. Every time you stepped on a tile, it would “fast” more water out. This will be a form central in no time. Breakfast was meh, beds were sub par. I'd skip this place.
Good, original and welcoming hotel. There is a hot tub I in the garden and some bikes for guests. Breakfast is standard. We recommend a dinner at the guest house restaurant because of the delicious Moroccan dishes.
There is a very comfortable lounge area with a [gas] fireplace that adds some atmosphere. There is also a nice library room adjacent to the lounge. We had a room that has a shared bathroom and were happy to find that our room had a sink in it. The shared bathroom was fine and clean and was always available. The room was well appointed and the bed comfortable. One negative is there is no coffee or tea in the rooms (in the private bath rooms also) which is okay for much of the day but it’s located in the restaurant so I don’t think you can access it when the restaurant is open. They have a lot of nice varieties of tea. The restaurant’s Moroccan restaurant has very good reviews, but when I tried to make a reservation four days in advance only the 20:30 time was available. So reserve very early if like us you don’t want to dine that late. The owner said that in the off season the breakfast they offer is being handled by the nearby bakery. We instead went to Turgid Restaurant for their excellent lunch buffet that starts at noon. It was delicious and had nice options [ISK 2.390 and well worth it].
