I'm from the Murfreesboro area so we don't have any waterfront dining places like this. It was beautiful to me. The service was pretty quick considering the fact that they were pretty busy around the times that we were there on a Saturday. Everyone here was also very nice. You pretty much walk in and wait to be seated. We got seated right away. Our view consists of fountain sprays shooting water up in the water, turtles, fishes, ducks, and a deer. This place is also pet friendly. You can bring your dog to sit outside with you. Food wise- their cheeseburger was my favorite thing here. It was cooked to perfection and even the bun was toasted. If I ever came back for a day on the lake here, I would probably grab another cheeseburger from here. Their French fries, potato wedges, and onion rings also wasn't bad. Their sides and hush puppies were pretty average. The catfish filets in the catfish basket was also cooked perfectly. It wasn't over cooked or undercooked. They make their own tartar sauce. Taste wise, the catfish were pretty average to me, as well. In all, I didn't have a bad experience here. It was nice to have a place to sit down at, grab a bite to eat, and grab some cold beers after being on the lake. A lot of the marinas we've been to don't have a waterfront restaurant so it was nice to have this here.
I can 't really give a good review because I left without ordering anything. I called ahead, and asked if this marina offered a full bar. I was assured they were a fully stocked bar. When I arrived at the marina, I waited at the hostess podium, as the sign instructed me to do to get seating. After standing there about 5 minutes watching employees walk past me, with out acknowledging me, finally a hostess showed up. I asked her if the restaurant offered a full bar. She stuttered, unsure, but said yes, they have a full bar . So my husband and I were sat outside. After sitting and waiting about 10 minutes, again, watching numerous servers go by, our girl finally showed up and asked to take our drink order. I asked for a Malibu and Diet. She replied with a questioning michalob in a bottle? Ummm, no. Malibu and diet. To which she then informed me that they do not have liquor. Only beer, not even wine coolers. Ok. That 's fine. You don 't have a liquor license or you can 't sell by the drink in this county. I suppose the young girls I spoke with on the phone and at the hostess counter just don 't know what full bar means. But why do you not sell wine coolers, or the fruity Apple beers? Oh well, we left. they were not busy so there was no need for the long wait times either. The little store is sparsely stocked. All in all it was a disappointing experience. But I posted the menus if you feel like trying it yourself. On a side note: we left this Marina and went to Blue Water Grill at Hurricane Dock. They have a very lovely FULLY stocked bar, fun frozen drinks, local craft beers on tap, and a wonderful restaurant. Check out their hours in the link below. They also have a deli style counter for quick to-go items. [hidden link]
Never would have known about this place if I didn 't have a friend who lived around here. The Galley is a full restaurant tucked beside a marina, deep down in Edgar Evins State Park. When I say deep down, I mean a few miles from any main road. I mean, you probably don 't know about this place unless you have a boat down in the marina. I mean, if you found this place on accident you would scratch your head and stare in wonder and ask yourself how a restaurant got lost inside a state park. We came one evening in July and sat outside on the patio- basically a shelter extension of the dock. It 's actually a really pretty romantic place, with glowing fountains out on the water and opportunistic turtles and catfish that swim around hoping for a french fry. The menu has a modest assortment of offerings ranging from wraps and salads to catfish and chicken dinner plates. Everything we ordered was really good, especially the fried catfish. Prices ranged from $7 to $29. Nice beer selection. Really, my only issue was the service. Our waitress didn 't seem very interested and thought it was okay to not bring the loose coins when we asked for change. And her math was off, so we got short changed a few bucks. I guess she is probably used to regulars that don 't want coin change, but we felt a little annoyed. Other than that... really a lovely spot for dinner. Evokes kind of a Louisiana bayou waterfront dining feel. Recommended. Note: Not wheelchair friendly. There is a long, steep concrete boat ramp you have to walk down to get to the restaurant. Also, according to their website it appears they are only open on weekends.
Garbage. Food is gas station level. Left without finishing the terrible food. Paid nearly $100 for my family. Don't waste your money or time.
Waited about 25 minutes to get a seat. Not too bad. Sat at the table for another 20. No one even came to take our order. No drinks, no apps. Not even water. They get overwhelmed with a reasonable crowd. When I inquired I was told the cook wasn't even taking another order for 20 MORE minutes. Heading back to the camp to scrape up something. I suggest the same.
