Cold Stone Creamery - Silver Spring

Please update your store hours accurately. The staff at this Cold Stone in Silver Spring is the most unprofessional I've encountered. This marks the third time I've visited this location only to find that they closed earlier than their posted hours. This time, they even had the open sign on, but when I walked in, they waved me away and said they weren’t open. Proceed to this location at your own risk.

My experiences at this restaurant can be a bit unpredictable. The seating is quite limited, which can be a problem when the weather isn’t great or if you want to enjoy your meal in the air conditioning. Recently, I’ve also noticed that many of the usual menu options are often unavailable. One evening, I went in to find none of the flavors I liked, which forced me to go elsewhere since it doesn’t make sense to pay for ice cream that’s just okay. However, on a good day, they really shine. The service is consistently quick, and when the weather is nice, there’s plenty of seating available right across the street. When they have my favorite flavors, I find it worthwhile to indulge every now and then. The quality is excellent, justifying the higher prices for an occasional treat. Despite a few less-than-ideal visits, most of my experiences have been very enjoyable. I hope they will resolve the minor issues over time, and I definitely plan to keep visiting when I want to treat myself.

Today’s service was terrible. They served me melted ice cream—more like a vanilla shake, really. What a disappointment!

I ended up leaving today and taking my business elsewhere. The Latina employee served a white man who came in after me, and when I mentioned that I had been there before him, she essentially called me a liar. I can't help but wonder if it's because I'm Black. It's puzzling how I could have been overlooked so easily in a store that wasn't even busy, and to be insulted in the process was frustrating. I felt discriminated against, to say the least. This was my second consecutive week visiting this location. Last week, the bathroom was out of service, but I still enjoyed my milkshake, so I decided to come back today. However, the bathroom was still closed. Is that a health code violation? Additionally, there was no air conditioning inside, even though it was 70 degrees outside, making it feel humid and uncomfortable. After today, I won’t be coming back! Get it together, Coldstone! This store is a disappointment!
