Eastern Gourmet Hǎi Nà Bǎi Chuān

Had to go soup dumplings and cucumber salad, which I then ate in the parking lot because of covid.Dumplings were good, but not the best I've every had. Cucumber salad was fresh and garlicy. I'll definitely be back.

Awesome weekday lunch special $25 for terrific soup dumplings and three entrees. Really good food; some of the best I've had in DC. Just hope they don't go out of business or get rid of the special!

We usually love this place. we love the dumplings and have them at least twice last week. but then we ate in the restaurant. we ordered chicken dumplings and they were raw and still frozen. to apologise, the manager gave us a bubbled from another restaurant that was clear for someone else. then the waiter went on to ignore us for the rest of the meal. at one point we have divided utensils because we couldn't crash the waiter down. When we were gonna pay the bill, they tried to calculate us for the dumplings. it was a bizarre and terrible experience.

Cannot go wrong with the dumplings or pan fried duck buns. We ordered the soup, fried, and steamed dumplings and they were great. For the duck buns they use a sweet/savory sauce and it was delicious; I guess there is a reason they only give you two buns, versus the five buns if you choose pork filling. Whendining in we did not see a drink selection, it seems they may only serve water; this was okay for us since we prefer water with our meals.When we arrived to the location it was not that busy and we were seated immediately, the only difficulty was finding a parking space. Thankfully most of the county public parking is free on the weekends, so you may need to park at one of those lots and walk to the restaurant.

Stopped by here today for take out order. Decided to try because of all the great reviews. Unfortunately my opinion is not the same. Ordered Spring rolls, although nice and crispy wrapper the inside so mushy and over cooked. Pork and shrimp soup dumpling...yes very juicy as other reviews noted however not very flavorful to me. Scallion pancake beef roll was flavorless and scallion pancake just doughy and not good in my opinion. Fried chicken dumpling...dumpling wrap to heavy and thick and inside flavorless. Salt/pepper fish filet had a strange outer batter that made the fish taste strange with a strange texture. Lastly, had the eggplant w/ garlic sauce and out of all the dishes it was the better of them all but again not enough garlic flavor but I will say the eggplant was fresh. So disappointed because I too wanted to love this place as it was very clean inside and young lady taking my order so very nice. The pictures look good except the dumplings and fish but don't taste good.
