The food was excellent, staff really superb and the prices were unbelievably reasonable!! The only downside was that the goat stew was off, but on the upside it meant that I got to have the veal cutlet!! Worth a visit to anyone coming to Silves.
This place attracts a lot of local people and is quite a fun experience. Not as refined food as we had elsewhere, but certainly good and amazingly inexpensive. I had the fried rabbit, two of us had the goat stew, and one of us had the mixed skewers. Good fries and rice, nice salad. Good wine. Good dessert too.
Good selection of food and drinks and the service is second to none. I have eaten here many times before, and 4 evenings in a row on my own, during my recent visit to this area. Very helpful staff who are able to understand my requirements even though I am unable to speak PortuguesePortuguese.
Have stopped by this restaurant on many occasions usualy in the evening it can get very busy after 9pm. The menu is in a variety of languages and plenty of choice with many traditional fish & meat dishes on offer. Service slows a bit in the kitchen when it gets busy as you would expect. Last trip there were 3 of us we had soup to start, main courses 2x fish & a steak plus 4 large beers and a soft drink all for 38 Euro. It really is a bargain basement
This is a lovely family-run restaurant close to the old Roman bridge (hence its name), once the only access across the River Arade. It’s a deceptively large place, part of which was shut off for the low-season when we were there. The staff are helpful and friendly, and willing to help you with your Portuguese, although their English is excellent. The food is really good, and the atmosphere comfortable, with plenty of ‘artefacts’ hung on the walls to keep you entertained. They even have a whole wall of vintage sewing machines. Bags of character.
