The chief deserves his status as a restorative master! the kitchen combines subtle flavors, the rooms are copied, the presentation sought, we have been regaled from the mouth, the entrance, the dish and the prices of the desserts are more than reasonable the terrace offers a splendid view of the staff is very welcoming, smiling and efficient it was our 2nd lunch, and we were not disappointed we will return!
A beautiful view from the terrace. Careful service. very good meal with a menu whose price quality ratio is unbeatable.
Tucked away in the hills above Simiane-La-Rotonde, this restaurant has a truly magical location. Sitting outside on the wooden terrace with uninterrupted views across the forested hills around the everyday world seems a distant memory. Getting here means leaving the départemental road and driving a short distance along a rough meandering track, but it’s worth it. A normal car should be ok, a low slung sports car probably wouldn’t make it. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed, the service excellent and friendly. A nice personal touch, the family name for the reservation had been beautifully drawn in coloured chalks onto a small piece of slate resting against a vase of fresh flowers on the table. The menu gave a choice of two entrees, main dishes and I think deserts. Each dish was delightfully presented, the portions not under-sized as is sometimes typical, and coked to perfection. My main of slow cooked chicken was succulent and flavoursome, my partner’s cod dish cooked to perfection just vaguely translucent. The combination of perfectly cooked exciting dishes, the excellent service, the wonderful wines and the superb location make this definitely a restaurant worth visiting if you’re in the area.
