He also replied that I would have to get to the restaurant and wait for a table to be available while my dish was ready and reserved for me. I didn't go for dinner and they lost a customer.
Boa variedade de pratos da cozinha tradicional portuguesa, restaurante familiar, comida bem temperada e bem servida.
This was a place we try first time last year... by accident... but it was a very good surprise and experience, so this year, we came on purpose! The Restaurant is a typical Portuguese Restaurant, owned by a hard worker Family, so everything you find here, is typically prepared, rather than industrial or gourmet. The food was very good last year, and again, this year! Congrats to the Owners. We have tried the sea food, and grilled meat, both were quite good. The prices are quite OK too for this type of restaurant. Enjoy!
We asked clamps for appetizer and 500g grilled squids for main course and the waiter answer was “don’t worry, squid for 2”. Everything seemed fresh, however they served us 1kg of squids we couldn’t finish (and that we didn’t ask for). Moreover, the squids were served with the skeleton, teeth, ink and all the insides and no one warn us about it beforehand. When questioned about it, the waiter answered that it’s the way they are served around, and they are the best in the country (well, I might disagree). Too expensive for what you get, and the desert and salad showcase was also really dirty . Do not recommend, overall Sines was disappointing and full of scams !
Just happened on this unassuming little restaurant, tucked down a side street, whilst wandering around Sines. We were welcomed in by Victor who spoke excellent English. It quickly became clear Victor takes great pride in his work as he steered us through the menu and wines. They specialise in fish dishes and display the fresh fish in an ice cabinet. Victor took great delight in showing and recommending the fish to us. We chose a sargo which I believe is seabream? We were treated to a selection of lovely bread, butter, olives, cheese, dips and fish paste as we waited for the fish. The fish was cooked to perfection in olive oil and garlic with excellent sides of potatoes and salad. A simple meal, cooked to perfection, and with the most relaxed but at the same time enthusiastic service! I've paid far more for far less before now! Cannot fault it.
