Love this place. It was where my husband took me on our first date and now my workers meet up there to bowl and throw back a few whenever we get the chance.
My son loves it being 7 years old. Perfect to keep him occupied during the winter when he's in the league.
Bowlero is an arcade company that has mini lanes in their arcades. Now they've acquired an actual bowling alley, and it shows they don't know how to run one, or even understand that a business in a small town cannot be run the same way they do in large cities. Leagues are not treated as the backbone they are to bowling alleys. Prices have been raised so high that many families are hopping the county line to bowl in Ephrata. They keep guaranteed leagues in the summer, which means no more free practice bowling for league members through the summer. All that's offered is two free games/week (no one bowls just two games unless you see their per game prices! No more senior discount days. No Wacky Wednesdays (five dollar cover and .25¢ games . No more real deals at all. It looks as though they did away with clutch bowling, as well. They even cut desk staff, so now it's just one (sometimes two people to take care of bowlers AND do the snack bar. And they've mostly closed down the snack bar, too. They're trying to push kitchen meals instead of snack bar items. And when it's busy, you could wait up to fifteen or twenty minutes just for a soda. And they push the little arcade area like crazy, as if they forget they're a bowling alley first. They removed the pool tables, too. In other words, if you're looking for old fashioned bowling, Bowlero is a huge, expensive disappointment. Many league members have quit in the months since they've taken over. They can be grateful they're the only bowling alley in this side of town because if there was competition, Bowlero would lose.If they ever decided to run this place like an ACTUAL bowling alley, they'd do well. Until then, there's a lot of unhappy bowlers.I swear if I ever got rich enough, I'd buy it out and turn it back into the awesome bowling center it used to be. I'd hire staff. And I'd concentrate on the bowlers and tournaments. I'd remember it's a bowling alley with a tiny arcade, not the other way around.Perhaps other Bowleros around the country are run better....perhaps. I just know our local one is not. And I don't blame staff; this is poor management with a tinge of corporate greed (yes, prices are up on everything, but there is NO reason ONE game should cost five or six dollars! They don't even allow our traditional league season end parties anymore. How DARE we want to bring in our own food for the party we must purchase it all from them! And the prices on that were astronomical, so no more parties for leagues.I miss real bowling alleys that actually cared about the people who spent their time and money there.
This place is awesome. Lanes were pretty occupied even on Monday evening but there are so many lanes. Fun with good vibes. The food was so good. The servers were very attentive and nice. I could see they were very very busy but still they are serving with nice gestures. The bar also had a lot of options and was very reasonably priced. Good experience. Would definitely recommend. Good to go with both friends or family. The arcade games are also fun.
